Beyond the Scent: From Diffuser to Cocktail Glass at Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa

Dec 2, 2025 | Sensory Branding

What happens when a hotel decides to taste its signature scent?

Last November, during Renaissance Day of Discovery 2025, Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa — selected as the brand’s Hero Hotel — invited Prolitec to host a sensory workshop for international Key Opinion Leaders.
Our mission was simple: to show how a signature fragrance can become a multi-sensory brand experience.

From Shiso Tea Leaf… to the bar menu

Led by Sam John (Senior Director Business Development – Prolitec APAC & MENAT), the workshop focused on the Renaissance Shiso Tea Leaf signature scent. Participants were guided through an olfactory-to-gustatory journey, tracing the evolution of tea-based fragrances — including the industry-shaping Bulgari Eau Parfumée Thé Vert, which introduced the revitalizing botanical intensity of green tea.

To bring this story to life, Prolitec partnered with mixologists from Haute Horizons (Verbier, Switzerland) to craft four tea-inspired cocktails:

  • The London Summit — Earl Grey
  • Smoked Velvet — Lapsang Souchong
  • Spiced Affair — Masala Chai
  • Shiso Seduction — Shiso Tea
→ designed to translate the Renaissance signature scent into flavor

The surprise outcome

Shiso Seduction became the instant favorite.
Not for its sweetness or presentation — but because guests immediately recognized the signature scent reflected in the flavor.

The reaction was so positive that Renaissance Phuket is now considering adding the cocktail to its official bar menu, giving guests a chance to literally taste the brand during their stay.

The takeaway

At Renaissance Phuket, a signature fragrance didn’t stay in the diffuser.
It became a story, a taste, a moment guests talked about — and potentially a new item on the bar menu.

That’s the power of multi-sensory brand experience.
And that’s what Prolitec helps brands unlock.
