Meet Carol: 21 Years of Safety, Structure — and Soul

Behind every great fragrance, there’s someone making sure it’s not just delightful — but safe. Meet Carol, Prolitec’s Product Safety Information Manager.

“There’s no typical day,” Carol said. “But if there is, it usually involves transforming data from fragrance houses into Prolitec’s safety documentation — making sure every product meets both internal and industry standards.”

Highly organized, efficient, and a natural problem solver, these qualities lend themselves to her role and ability to manage global safety documentation, as well as the many other tasks she is responsible for. “If something a little tricky needs to get done without getting extra software involved, I’ll probably end up figuring out how.”

After starting in 2004 as an Executive Assistant when the company had just a handful of people, Carol has seen Prolitec grow at full speed. And she’s grown with it — shaping a vital (and rare) role that blends regulation, rigor, and a touch of creativity.

“I never imagined staying 20+ years in a company, but here I am — and still contributing in meaningful ways.”

But her best-kept secret for staying focused and driven in a fast-paced environment? Finding balance — and releasing stress — by volunteering at a farm animal sanctuary.

Every Wednesday, Carol heads to a nearby sanctuary where she feeds 22 potbelly pigs, two Yorkshire giants, and also helps care for ducks, geese, goats, donkeys, cows, and sheep. It’s sweaty, muddy, and demanding — and it gives her the clarity she needs to return to work recharged. During the rest of the week, she procures and organizes all the donated produce needed to feed the animals.

Her hidden passion? Photography. A reformed obsessive photographer, she recently handed her beloved camera down to her nephew after he finished a high school photography class with a spark in his eye and obvious talent. Missing that creative outlet, Carol is now keeping an eye out for her next “good” camera. “I honestly don’t have a favorite subject matter — I don’t shoot for anyone but myself, so my range of photos is all over the place. For obvious reasons, though, lately it’s been a lot of animals.”

And the impact she wants to have at Prolitec? A quiet force behind the scenes, Carol reminds us that diligence, care, and consistency are just as essential to a brand as creativity and speed:

“I want to make sure we put the safest products on the market — and help people understand what safety really means, so they can feel confident using them.”
